How do I use Andractim Gel?
Andractim 2.5% gel is for external use only. It is applied to the skin and then left to dry for 5-10 minutes. It is important to take precautions to avoid accidental secondary exposure of Andractim to the people and pets you come into contact with, so please follow these usage guidelines:
Is Andractim Gel the same thing as DHT cream?
While DHT is available in white cream preparations formulated by compounding pharmacists, Andractim is the only commercially available DHT gel. Also, creams may have a variable amount of DHT; Andractim is a 2.5% concentration.
Is Andractim Gel the same thing as Androgel, Testogel or Testim Gel?
No, Andractim is the world's only commercially available Dihydrotestosterone gel. Androgel, Testogel and Testim gel are Testosterone formulations and contain no DHT.
What are the side effects of Andractim Gel?
Most studies have reported no side effects. The following side effects are rare and almost always caused by a higher than needed dose of Andractim. Reducing the dose will address the symptoms.
Is DHT good or bad for prostate health?
DHT plays a vital role in the initial growth and development of the prostate gland. However, it's Estrogens that stimulate the onset of prostate hyperplasia. Paradixically, DHT has been shown to actually decrease the size of the prostate in short-term studies, possibly due to DHT's anti-estrogenic effects. This is one of the primary reasons that DHT is being considered more and more in the health maintenance of aging men. In long term studies with Andractim Gel (2 years), no change in prostate volume was observed (and no serious adverse effects were reported either.)
Some researchers think DT could play an important role in treating benign prostate hypertrophy (BPH) and have filed a patent on their research.
Does DHT cause hair loss?
Long term use of DHT may cause hair loss, especially if you have Male Pattern Baldness (MPB) in your family. There are steps you can take to mitigate this risk: use DHT for no more than 3 months at a time maximum, and use a topical DHT blocking shampoo for as long as you're using Andractim Gel.
